Founded in 1995, the South Western Ambulance Charity uses donations to enhance and improve the welfare of staff and volunteers of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and benefit the communities that use our service. 

Our charitable support covers the South West region; Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). 

We are funded by donations and legacies received from staff, patients, relatives and companies who want to show their appreciation and support for the South Western Ambulance Service. Many donate to say thank you for the care that they, or their loved one, has received from us.

Fundraising Challenges

Outrun an Ambulance

Why not join us for the Outrun an Ambulance fundraising challenge which invites you to conquer the mileage covered in an average shift by an ambulance. You can undertake the challenge in whichever way suits you - run, cycle, swim, use a wheelchair, walk a dog, push a pram, row a boat - you choose.

Do it your way! You pick: the area you want to support, the mileage to be covered, the method and the timescale (up to 3 months). It's a really inclusive challenge that can be tackled on your own, with your family, or as part of a team.

The incredible Patricia, at 75 years old, bravely took on the challenge of a sponsored aeroplane wing walk in support of #NHSCharitiesTogether and the South Western Ambulance Charity. She raised over £3000 - what a fantastic fundraiser!
